We met in late spring of 2009 on a Christian dating site! Yes, crazy! It wasn't until
October that year that we decided to take the leap and meet in person. We had become
such close friends and we knew the Lord had more in store for us.
Our first date was on October 3, 2009. We went to a local carnival, rode the
ferris wheel, and headed over to the rodeo. After our hot dogs, we gathered a few blankets
and laid them out on the empty baseball field at McKee Park in Starkville, MS. We watched
the stars and chatted until we got too cold and left.
Living 1,000 miles away from each other was never something we'd hoped for. But after
meeting, we could no longer deny our feelings and decided to try and stick it out. We only
saw each other for a few days every 3-4 months until the Fall of 2011 when Mikey enrolled
at MSU. Finally we were together!
Sadly, finances forced him to move back to Pennsylvania in December 2012, leaving us apart once again.
The fourth time we saw each other this year was for my Thesis reception on November 21, an important date, because later that night he proposed!
While he is working in Pennsylvania, I am finishing my renewable teaching license here in MS. As soon as I complete Pennsylvania
teaching requirements, we will be getting married and I will be moving all the way up north! We are so excited and can hardly wait to be together, permanently this time!
